The Cuban Amazon is a korotkokhvosty parrot with a length of body about 32 cm and weighing about 262 гр. Both floors are painted equally. Main color of plumage of the Cuban Amazon dark green. Feathers have a black fringing. A forehead honor to a nape white, a throat and a breast rose-red. In ears a gray spot. On a breast hardly noticeable pinkish impregnations. Podkhvostye greenish-yellow, with red impregnations. Swing feathers in wings blue. The beak is light, corporal color. Gray-brown paws. Dark brown eyes.
Is known five subspecies of the Cuban Amazon which differ from each other in elements of coloring and an area of dwelling.

Reproduction of the Cuban amazon

The season of reproduction falls on March — July. Birds get off in couples. For nesting choose cavities of trees. In a laying of 3 — 5 eggs, the female hatches a laying of 27 — 28 days. Baby birds leave a nest at the age of 8 weeks. Some time young individuals are near parents, and those finish feeding them.
