The history of breed the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel originates in the Middle Ages.

Actually, in honor of Charles II also called these doggies: the king practically everywhere appeared accompanied by a canine friend.

This color began to be called бленхейм. The dogs brought by the sir of Marlboro were more hardy and are larger, than their predecessors. The selector considered that they have to run for a horse, without lagging behind. Being a military, he dreamed to carry dogs in campaigns – as a mascot.

In 1945. The British kennel-club approved the standard of breed under the final name "gentleman King Charlz spaniel".
In the late forties from England these dogs got the 20th centuries to the USA, New Zealand, Australia where became very popular. Also extended worldwide.
Still in Great Britain and the USA the gentleman King Charlz the spaniel strongly takes the place in the five of the most popular breeds.
In Belarus they also gain the increasing popularity.
