General impression: the long-haired collie represents a dog of a great view with quiet advantage. At the same time any detail in a general view cannot be disproportionate.

Characteristic: the structure of the case represents force and activity, in a dog there is no awkwardness and any trace of roughness. Expression of a muzzle is important very much. If to consider the characteristics relating to it, then it is defined by full steadiness and a proper correlation of length of a skull and muzzle, the size, a form, color and on point duty an eye and correctly put ears.

Temperament: friendly, without any trace of nervousness and aggression.

Head and skull: features of the head of a collie are of very great importance it has to be considered in the ratio with growth of a dog. At a look in front or sideways the head is similar to well dulled, purely cut out wedge with flat external lines. The skull flat is also gradually narrowed from ears to a tip of a black lobe of a nose on each side, without expression of malar bones and without making impressions that a muzzle thin or sharp. In a profile the top lines of a skull and muzzle pass in parallel and directly and have identical length. They are divided by weak, but notable transition from a forehead to a muzzle. The average point between internal corners of eyes (at the same time the center of correctly located transition from a forehead to a muzzle) represents the center of the harmonious head. The termination of the equal well rounded muzzle stupid, not square. The lower jaw powerful and well created. Skull depth from eyebrows to the lower line of the lower jaw cannot be excessive (in general a skull not deep). A nose lobe — surely black.

Eyes: very important point, they give to a dog pretty expression. The average size (not small), slightly slantwise put, almond-shaped. Dark brown, except dogs of a color blyu-merl which can have blue one or both eyes or blue in a speck. Expression is full of intelligence, with a live and vigilant look when the dog listens.

Ears: small, put not too closely to each other, but it is not far. At rest put, however when the dog is excited, they move forward and keep raised, i.e. about two thirds of an ear stand vertically, and the top third hangs naturally, reaching a horizontal line of an excess.

Muzzle/bite: teeth of the good size. Jaws are strong, with an excellent, uniform nozhnitseobrazny bite, at the same time the top number of cutters without gap comes before lower, and teeth stand in a jaw vertically.

Neck: brawny, strong, corresponding length, well curved.

Front extremities: shovels inclined with a good corner of joints. Front extremities direct and brawny, at the same time elbows are not twisted neither inside, nor outside, have not too strong frame.

Case: in the ratio with height in withers the back strong, a waist slightly convex is slightly longer. Edges with the good arch, a breast deep, at the same time rather wide behind shovels.

Back extremities: hips are brawny, shins dry and sinewy, with well expressed corners of skakatelny joints. Skakatelny joints — low located and strong.

Paws: Oval, with dense small pillows, fingers on front extremities bony, and on back extremities — a little less bony and skintight to each other.

Tail: long, reaches, at least, skakatelny joints. At rest keeps low, with slightly curved end. In wild spirits — can keep above, however not over a back.

Movements: are characteristic sign of breed. Well put dog never twists elbows, however front extremities in the movement are put rather narrowly. The knitting, crossing or rolled movements are extremely not desirable. At a look behind back extremities from skakatelny joints to the earth stand in parallel, however is not close to each other. At a look sideways movements smooth. Back extremities strong with a strong push. The wide step easy and free is desirable respectively.

Wool: the cover hair smooth, to the touch a rigid underfur soft, fluffy and very dense approaches a case contour, very dense. Mane and collar very magnificent. On a mask and a muzzle wool smooth and short. Tips of ears with smooth and short wool, to the basis of ears wool is extended. Front extremities with the decorating wool. Back extremities above skakatelny joints are dressed by magnificent wool, however below skakatelny joints are covered with rather short and smooth wool. The tail is magnificently dressed.

Color: there are three recognized colors: sable, three-colored and blyu-merl. Sable: any shade from light gold to juicy makhagonovy, shaded by sable. Light-straw or cream are extremely not desirable. Three-colored: mainly black with juicy fiery marks on the head and extremities. The rusty raid on a cover hair is extremely not desirable. Blyu-merl: mainly clean silver-blue, with black spots or the black and marble drawing. Bright fiery marks are preferable, their absence is not punished. Big black spots, a slate-gray or rusty raid, both on a cover hair, and on an underfur are extremely not desirable. White marks: all called colors can have more or less than white marks, typical for a collie. The following drawing has advantage: in whole or in part a white collar, a white breast, extremities and paws, the white end of a tail, on a muzzle or a skull — white a protorank.

Growth: height in withers: dogs – 56 – 61 cm boughs – 51 – 56 cm

Shortcomings: any deviation from above the called points has to be considered as a shortcoming which assessment has to be in exact compliance with degree of expressiveness of this deviation.

Note: at dogs of a collie have to be two obvious, normally developed a testicle which completely are in a scrotum.
