The help to people with a hearing disorder

Dogs help deafs or people suffering from a hearing disorder, warning them about important sounds, such as alarm system or phone call. Audrey Trishman managing one of programs of a training of such guard dogs in the USA says: "We take in the program not only thoroughbred Labradors retrievers, but also puppies from a shelter. Good candidates are the kids who are actively reacting to sounds and interested in them".

As for the training, in the organization where Audrey works, puppies begin to train from 2 months and do not leave school within several weeks. Employees use this time for socialization of dogs, their acquaintance to different sounds, pictures and textures and also for work on self-confidence. After such preparation puppies are distributed on institutions where they are trained in obedience and performance of certain tasks. There for 12-18 more months the trainer works with each puppy.

Help to physically disabled people

Such dogs help to move to the people not capable it to do independently. They push wheelchairs or help the person to keep balance in vertical position and when walking. Such guard dogs know more than 40 teams which could be useful to their owners. They open and close doors, switch on and off light, lift the fallen objects. The best dogs for such work — a hybrid of a Labrador and golden - a retriever. Their size, force and ability to study quickly perfectly are suitable for performance of the listed tasks.

The help to people with mental disorders

Dogs help also the people suffering from various psychological diseases, such as post-traumatic stressful frustration which often meets at the people who came back from war. Animals can be specially trained for work with the people suffering from obsessivno-compulsive frustration, autism, schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder or the panic attacks. Various breeds or hybrids of any size are suitable for this work.

These dogs not only emotionally support the owner, they are trained to help patients with a certain type of frustration: remind people to take medicines, help to stop the panic attacks and take away the confused owner to the quiet safe place.
